MobFit History

We founded MobFit after working in corporate jobs for years. Lack of time and lack of emphasis on health and well being in the workplace were two of the major reasons we struggled with the city jobs.

We became frustrated with our working environment and felt there were simple changes that could be made to benefit everyone's wellbeing and allow people to thrive at work.

We took the leap to set up MobFit in 2016, and now are proud to work with a team of amazing individuals who are as passionate as us for improving the health and happiness of office workers as we are.

Mark Briant

Founder

Mark has always been a competitive athlete, playing semi-professional rugby for Blackheath RFC where he achieved ‘world class’ fitness rankings, and now competes in Crossfit. Prior to MobFit, Mark worked in banking so understands the challenges of juggling health and fitness with a demanding office job.

As well as being a personal trainer, Mark also has a passion for food and is a qualified BTN Nutritionist. He loves discovering new ingredients and combinations that not only taste great but fuel the body and mind for optimal performance. The world of nutrition is a confusing one and he helps clients simplify it, getting the best out of themselves.

Rob Smith

Founder

Rob began learning about fitness as a teenager. An unexplained hip injury caused him to walk with a severe limp for 5 years which led him to discover the gym and weight training during his teenage years. His passion for coaching grew after he founded a rugby team whilst at Manchester University, after the first year he handed over the coaching job to Mark!

Rob loves having variety in training, competing in triathlons, boxing, Crossfit, and ultra marathons. Currently, he is training to run across England (with Mark of course) and is learning Yoga!

TANYA

Animal Flow, Fitness & Sports Massage

Tanya has worked as a personal trainer for the last 6 years, primarily in North London. Training clients at gyms in the early days, then moving to their homes, but her favourite place is outside in the park!

When not training you will find Tanya in the woods, climbing trees and monkey-ing around. She has extensive Animal Flow and movement training, hence why she is the lead instructor for our 'Primal' class. Alongside the bodyweight moves, she also is a very good Olympic weightlifter and strength trainer. If that's not enough, she has also qualified as a sports and remedial massage therapist!

HANNAH

Personal Trainer

Hannah has worked in the sports industry for over 10 years but has generally been behind the scenes, working for legal and commercial teams, including Manchester City and the Sydney Swans in Australia.

After sitting behind a desk for over a decade, Hannah is now a personal trainer and fitness instructor and is very passionate about getting people moving and making fitness part of their routine.

Whilst in Sydney, Hannah was also strength and conditioning coach for the inaugural Sydney Swans Girls Academy.

You will find Hannah trying to get out of London as much as possible, she loves the outdoors - hiking, camping, cycling and travelling with her partner Jack!

JENNY

Hatha Yoga

Jen completed her 200 hour training in California back in 2017. Her passion for yoga comes from a personal place where she wanted to become more aware of her mental wellbeing. Since then she has been sharing her love for yoga and mindfulness through teaching Hatha, by focusing on breathing and setting intentions. To her, yoga is accessible to all, and there as a tool to help improve your state of mind.

When Jen’s not teaching in Kent and London she likes bouldering, taking nature photography, and cooking up Italian food.

ALEX

Yoga

Alex started dancing before she could walk which became the foundation for her Power Yoga classes. Since becoming qualified she has developed a unique style that focuses on strength and mobility leaving you ready to fly back to the office.

Outside of the yoga-sphere Alex is a professional Pole Fitness instructor and performer. Human flags and 8 inch heels are a staple in her day to day life.

JO

Yoga & Yoga Therapeutics

After two years, two breakdowns, three therapists, countless pills, podcasts and walks, Jo is a bit of an expert in being mad at work.

With 11 years in Communications under her belt, she now uses her comms experience as well as her lived experience of struggling with her mental health to help organisations take practical action to support people’s mental wellbeing in the workplace.

Away from her yoga classes she also delivers dynamic wellness programs and holistic health retreats. She has worked with individuals of all ages and abilities to uncover meaningful connections through purposeful learning, authentic expression and joy.

MICHAEL

Fitness & Broga

Michael has many years of experience as a personal trainer, in a gym, studio and corporate setting. He is passionate about both mental and physical health, helping individuals reduce stress to achieve a greater level of health and happiness. He combines the latest technology, ancient breathing techniques, and different types of movement to optimise his clients progress.

Michael teaches a variety of fitness classes for MobFit, including the 'fitness yoga' class, Broga.

PURAVI

Yoga & Guided Meditation

Puravi is a trained dancer having trained with the Royal Ballet School, after nearly 10 years working on the trading floor – she trained as a Yoga teacher and now teaches Adults, Children, Athletes and Children with Special Educational Needs across London.
Puravi recognises that people need to hold space and just breathe. Her classes are tailored to link breath to movement in a fun and playful way, creating a safe and calm environment to mindfully move, free of judgement.
She teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, Dynamic Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin and Children’s Yoga as well as Meditation and Mindfulness.

FAYE

Barrelates

Starting her training at the age of eleven, Faye is a professional dancer, beginning her career at Elmhurst Ballet School and The Royal Ballet School, going on to complete at Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts where she studied with a full scholarship and gained a diploma in Musical Theatre.

Following her training, Faye has worked across the West End for the last 10 years, dancing in many shows, TV programmes and adverts including The Body Guard, Dirty Dancing, performing at the Royal Variety show for the Queen and The X Factor to name a few!

Faye discovered her passion for Pilates and Barre whilst recovering from a knee injury she picked up whilst performing in a West End show. Since completing her training, she has worked with and trained A-list celebrities throughout many boutiques and studios across London and loves sharing her knowledge and love for Pilates and Barre with all clients.

SALMA

Yoga & Broga

Salma loves anything and everything mindfulness and fitness-related and her biggest passion is yoga. Salma completed her Hatha yoga training in Canada in 2014, where she is originally from. She has advanced her training through completing Vinyasa flow, Yin and pregnancy yoga training and has over 700
hours of Yoga Alliance certified hours.

Salma is also a Barre, Sculpt and Broga instructor. Finally, Salma is a certified Level 2 fitness instructor and Sound Healer. You can find Salma in various studios and gyms across South West London teaching or practising something mindful or sweaty (or likely both)!

JONNY

Associate - Mindfulness & Meditation

Jonny has been practising mindfulness and meditation for over 17 years. He began his training in traditional meditation and mindfulness practices in Zen, Vipassana, Yoga and Tai Chi before moving into Mindfulness and Compassion training.

He is recognised on the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Training Organisations UK listing. This listing recognises teachers that ‘meet the UK Good Practice Guidance for Mindfulness-Based Teaches'.

When not leading one of our mindfulness workshops, you will find Jonny hanging out with his rescue dog, training with his kettlebells, or enjoying nature!

DAN

Associate, Mental Wellbeing

Dan is a retired professional Aussie Rules player, winning player of the season for the Richmond Tigers. Prior to this achievement, Dan had to overcome mental battles that were holding him back from reaching his potential on the playing field. Dan shares his stories of playing elite sport, the cost of success, and how he used tools centred around perspective, mindfulness and connection to improve his mental wellbeing, and eventually reach his highest standards physically.

FIORA

Massage

Fiora has over 10 years experience as a massage therapist. She specialises in chair massage focused on relaxing the neck, shoulders and back, especially good for office workers!

JJ

Fitness

JJ has competed in sports throughout his whole life; from playing semi-professional rugby and racing mountain bikes to surfing, snowboarding and wakeboarding.

Having completed an Honors degree in Sports Science his main focus with training lies in strength and conditioning. Whilst at university, JJ was a community rugby coach for Gloucester rugby club further enhancing his approachable coaching style and character.

He has now been a personal trainer for 9 years and his emphasis with training being that everyone should have strong joints and good ranges of motion in order to perform optimally. JJ pushes everyone to their limits with his variable mobility, strength and conditioning based sessions and ensuring that everyone is enjoying themselves is a priority!

JENNY

Vinyasa Yoga

Training professionally as a ballet dancer in Central School of Ballet, Jenny originally took up yoga alongside her training in 2009. Having taught barre in London for the past four years, in 2017 she completed 200 hours Vinyasa Teacher Training in Greece and has been teaching group and corporate classes across the city. Her style of teaching brings a calm and focused energy, encouraging breath and visualisation to strive for a state o physical and mental harmony.

VICKY

Fitness

Vicky is a professional rugby player, playing for Saracens and England. She was even part of the world cup 2014 winning team! Outside of rugby, she is a personal trainer and fitness instructor. She utilises her elite sporting experience when delivering fitness classes for MobFit.

She is a massive foodie, and her favourite fruit is the pineapple!

Roz

Communications Manager

After working in fashion PR for six years organising London Fashion Week shows, overseeing global agencies and managing international press events, Roz took the leap to follow her passion for health and fitness and joined the MobFit team in early 2019.

Using her PR experience, Roz now works across the comms side of the business and is passionate about building healthy and rewarding working communities for clients and for the Mob team too.

A keen runner, Roz has run multiple half marathons and is happiest when outside exploring the countryside, weight training in the gym or eating pizza!

Kirsty

MobFit Associate, Confidence Training

Kirsty spent a decade working in marketing, running a successful marketing agency working with clients such as Virgin Atlantic, Claire’s and IBM. After being one of the only women on a conference lineup one time too many, she began to give free presentation training to women to help level the playing field. Through this, she discovered her real passion of empowering individuals and teams to unlock their full potential.

For nearly ten years, she has travelled around the world speaking at conferences to audiences of thousands, and is a seasoned stand-up comic who ran a sold out one woman show at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe.

She has trained with ICF accredited Neuroleadership Institute, to apply the fundamentals of neuroscience to enable better conversations, grow self belief and regulate nerves.
She believes, passionately, that a recognised, empowered workforce improves collaboration, creativity and internal and external communication. She is a bestselling author of the award nominated “The Future is Freelance” and lives in Devon with her husband and their baby daughter, Amazon Alexa.

Jack

Self Defense

Jack is a Brazilian jiu jitsu brown belt with over seven years experience of training including competing internationally. He has coached mixed martial arts alongside self defence, teaching people of all levels across 3 different continents.

Brazilian jiu jitsu is not only his career but also his passion. Whether you are an athlete, hobbyist or keen to learn self defence, Jack offers something for everyone at all abilities

Dr. Charlotte

MobFit Associate, Sleep Specialist

Charlotte is a sleep specialist and human movement scientist. Having completed her PhD in movement analysis and physical activity participation in neurological populations, she moved to the french alps and began working in a sleep laboratory. Charlotte currently works as a Research Fellow at Canterbury Christ Church University where she is researching the impact of altitude on sleep and the cognitive impact it has. Charlotte also runs a sleep clinic in Chamonix hospital here she advises, assesses, diagnoses and treats individuals with a wide range of sleep problems and disorders.

For us, she delivers lectures, workshops and seminars that primarily serve to raise awareness surrounding the importance of sleep and how to get better quality Zzzz's! Living close to Mont-Blanc she is also one of two Senior researchers responsible for running a study at the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (a trail running event, 178km, 9000m D+) each summer where she assesses the impact of severe sleep deprivation on runners performance and psychomotor vigilance in extreme environmental stresses.
